  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Prepare the apple filling by cooking chopped apples with brown sugar, lemon juice, spices, and corn starch in a saucepan over medium heat until softened. Set aside to cool.
  2. In a large bowl, combine cubed French bread and let it soak in a mixture of eggs, milk, cream, vanilla, and spices for about 15 minutes.
  3. Mix melted butter with maple syrup and pecans for the topping.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Fill muffin tins with soaked bread mixture, add apple filling on top, and finish with pecan topping.
  5. Bake for about 22-25 minutes until golden brown.
