  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 lean)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (non-alcoholic)
  • 4 sub rolls
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 8 slices turkey bacon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until combined.
  3. Form into meatballs (about 1.5 inches wide) and brown in olive oil over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add BBQ sauce to the skillet; simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
  5. Toast sub rolls in the oven for about 5 minutes.
  6. Assemble subs by placing meatballs inside rolls, topping with cheese and turkey bacon.
  7. Return to oven until cheese melts (about 2-3 minutes).
  8. Serve hot with extra sauce on the side.
