  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup Heath toffee bits with chocolate
  • Flaked sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt unsalted butter over medium heat, stirring until it turns golden brown. Mix in espresso powder and refrigerate until firm (1-2 hours).
  2. Beat solidified butter and sugars together on medium-high speed for 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add egg and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  4. Gradually incorporate baking powder, baking soda, salt, and flour on low speed until just combined.
  5. Fold in toffee bits gently using a spatula.
  6. Scoop large balls of dough onto a tray, cover, and chill for at least 2 hours or up to 24 hours.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place chilled dough balls on parchment-lined sheets and sprinkle with flaked sea salt.
  8. Bake for 11-13 minutes until edges are golden brown; cool slightly before transferring to wire racks.
