  • 200 g grated apples
  • 110 g vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 140 g sour cream
  • 100 g granulated sugar
  • 100 g dark brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • For the buttercream: 100 g butter
  • 165 g powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare the caramel sauce by heating granulated sugar and water until dissolved. Add butter, cream, and salt, stirring until smooth.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and allspice.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together sugars, grated apples, vegetable oil, eggs, sour cream, and vanilla.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients gently until just mixed.
  5. Pour into a greased cake pan and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. For the buttercream, beat room temperature butter with powdered sugar until creamy; add caramel sauce and mix well.
  7. Once cooled, frost the cake with buttercream and drizzle with extra caramel.
