  • 1 tablespoon fresh sage (chopped)
  • 8 ounces cremini mushrooms (sliced)
  • 3 tablespoons butter (divided)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Tortellini: Boil water in a large pot and cook tortellini according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. Prepare Ingredients: While pasta cooks, slice mushrooms and chop sage.
  3. Crisp Sage: In a skillet over medium-high heat, combine 1 tablespoon butter with olive oil. Add sage leaves and cook until crispy, about 1 minute. Remove from skillet.
  4. Sauté Mushrooms: In the same skillet, add remaining butter, sliced mushrooms, and minced garlic. Cook for about 5 minutes until mushrooms are golden brown.
  5. Combine: Drain tortellini and toss it into the skillet with sautéed mushrooms, parmesan cheese, and crispy sage. Stir gently to combine and season with salt and pepper.
