  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/3 cup hot pepper jelly

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, cream together the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth.
  2. Mix in the shredded cheddar cheese until fully combined.
  3. Add the flour, salt, and optional garlic powder; mix until a dough forms.
  4. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Roll chilled dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the baking sheet.
  7. Press your thumb gently into each ball’s center to create an indentation.
  8. Fill each thumbprint with about 1/2 tsp of hot pepper jelly.
  9. Bake for 13–15 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Allow to cool slightly before serving warm or at room temperature.
