Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup whole milk (warm)
  • 3 teaspoons active dry yeast or instant yeast
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
  • 23 garlic cloves (finely chopped)
  • 1/4 cup salted butter
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it activate for about 5 minutes.
  2. Add sugar, flour, egg, salt, and softened butter into the yeast mixture. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 15 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 90 minutes or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough, divide it into 12 pieces, and shape each piece into a ball.
  6. Arrange the rolls on a parchment-lined baking sheet and let them rise again for 30-45 minutes.
  7. Preheat your oven to 350F (175C). Brush rolls with an egg wash made from an egg yolk mixed with milk.
  8. Bake for about 20-22 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Meanwhile, melt salted butter in a saucepan over low heat and sauté garlic briefly until fragrant; stir in fresh parsley.
  10. Brush hot rolls with the garlic butter before serving.
