- 5 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup milk
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine sliced peaches, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Stir until well coated.
- In another bowl, mix flour, remaining granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Pour melted butter into a baking dish; add vanilla extract and milk to the dry ingredients and stir until smooth.
- Pour the batter over the melted butter without stirring. Spoon peach mixture evenly over the batter.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and bubbly around the edges.
- Let cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
