  • 5 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine sliced peaches, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Stir until well coated.
  3. In another bowl, mix flour, remaining granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Pour melted butter into a baking dish; add vanilla extract and milk to the dry ingredients and stir until smooth.
  5. Pour the batter over the melted butter without stirring. Spoon peach mixture evenly over the batter.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and bubbly around the edges.
  7. Let cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
