  • 1 tsp kosher sea salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 6 oz dark chocolate (chopped)
  • Sea salt (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl until almost completely melted.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cornstarch, and salt.
  3. Cream the melted butter and both sugars in a stand mixer until combined. Add orange zest and vanilla.
  4. Mix in eggs one at a time, then gradually add dry ingredients until combined.
  5. Fold in chopped dark chocolate and chill dough for at least two hours.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  7. Form cookie balls using a scoop and place on prepared sheets; sprinkle with sea salt if desired.
  8. Bake for 11-13 minutes or until golden brown around edges; cool before transferring to wire racks.
