  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup cooked crumbled turkey bacon
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until soft. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute before adding marinara sauce, turkey bacon, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
  2. For the béchamel sauce, melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour for 1–2 minutes. Gradually add milk while stirring until thickened. Mix in Parmesan cheese and garlic powder; season with salt and pepper.
  3. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). In a baking dish, layer meat sauce, cooked lasagna noodles, béchamel sauce, mozzarella cheese, and cheddar cheese until all ingredients are used up. Finish with cheese on top.
  4. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes; then remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
