  • 1 English cucumber (or 4 Persian cucumbers)
  • 5 scallions (thinly sliced)
  • 1 red chili pepper (optional for heat)
  • 1/2 cup basil leaves
  • 3 Tbsp Tamari (low sodium)
  • 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 23 tsp maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds (or crispy fried onions)
  • Garlic chili sauce

Instructions

  1. 1. Steam the gyoza dumplings according to package instructions. Once cooked, transfer them to a large bowl and add sesame oil or water to prevent sticking.
  2. 2. In a separate bowl, whisk together Tamari, balsamic vinegar, and maple syrup. Pour over warm dumplings and toss gently.
  3. 3. Cut heirloom tomatoes into wedges and thinly slice the cucumber and scallions. Add these veggies along with any optional chili pepper into the bowl with the dumplings and mix gently.
  4. 4. Tear basil leaves over the top and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds or crispy fried onions for garnish.
  5. 5. Serve at room temperature with garlic chili sauce on the side for an extra kick.
