  • 5 medium apples, sliced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 3/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp allspice
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 and 1/2 cups salted butter, melted
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups old-fashioned whole rolled oats
  • 1 and 1/2 cups light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tbsp salted butter, cubed
  • 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp heavy cream
  • pinch of fine sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13 pan with nonstick spray and parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix sliced apples with lemon juice, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, cloves, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, combine melted butter, flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt until crumbly.
  4. Press two-thirds of the mixture into the prepared pan as the base. Spoon apple mixture on top and sprinkle remaining crumble over it.
  5. Bake for 38 to 45 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Allow cooling before slicing and serving drizzled with salted caramel sauce.
