  • ½ tsp grated nutmeg
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp white sugar
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup porridge oats
  • 125 g butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180C (375F).
  2. Peel, core, and chop the apples into bite-sized pieces. Combine them in a baking pan with flour, sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
  3. In another bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, cold butter, and salt until crumbly.
  4. Spread the crumble topping over the apple mixture. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Let cool slightly before serving warm with vanilla ice cream or custard.
