  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs (lightly beaten)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch baking pan and line with parchment paper.
  2. Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples; set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  4. In another bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and yogurt until smooth.
  5. Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until just mixed.
  6. Spread half of the batter into the prepared pan and layer half of the apple slices on top.
  7. Add the remaining batter over the apples and top with remaining apple slices.
  8. Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon mixture over the top.
  9. Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden brown; let cool before serving.
